Reasons I Leave One Behind
Yes, you could always go to a department store and buy a plastic tray for your drawer. But you and I both know that those move around in your drawer every time you open and close it. To me, that is really irritating. That’s why I love the wood tray insert. We custom cut to the exact size of the drawer. Because of this, the tray doesn’t move around. It ultimately provides a nice, clean look.
Specifics of the Product
Rev-A-Shelf makes this product in two sizes and heights. The first one is 14-5/8″ wide x 22″ deep, which can be trimmed to a minimum of 8-3/4″ wide and 15-1/2″ deep. The second is 20-5/8″ wide and 22″ deep and can be trimmed to a minimum of 14-1/4″ wide and 15-1/2″ deep. As long as your drawer width and depth fit between the overall size and the minimum size, then you are good to go. When you receive it, you’ll need to set the insert on a table saw to cut to the size you need.
There are two height options: 2-3/8″ or 2-7/8″. Simply measure the inside drawer height when you take your other drawer measurements. Also make sure that you don’t accidentally buy the taller one for your shallow drawer.
Since these are custom fit to that exact drawer, you now know why I always leave the Rev-A-Shelf Wood tray in the kitchen when I move. I think it’s a small price to pay to keep me sane, and it’s an inexpensive upgrade if you’re looking to sell your home.
